Development

We are also working on developing business other than SC, such as office buildings and the development of residential housing. Post COVID-19, lifestyles and values have seen further changes, with the functions desired from a city also becoming more diversified. We are seeking to create new value by identifying the functions a city needs and the elements that will further enhance its appeal.

Office Building Business

In 2021, we opened the first office building operated by our company, Nihombashi Sanchome Square, in Nihombashi, Tokyo. Furthermore, in the Nagareyama area, we have opened Azalea Terrace, an office building complex that can respond to diversifying ways of working and lifestyles, primarily targeted at the child-rearing generation. All of our facilities are equipped with an emergency generator that allows people to remain inside for up to 72 hours in the case of being unable to return home for any reason. They are also rooted in securing a low burden on the environment, through such measures as the entire facility using electricity that comes from 100% renewable energy sources.

Residential Housing Business

Our housing development projects utilizing Takashimaya Group assets have taken the form of T-Flat Kugayama (a former warehouse) in 2021, and Affluence Namba East (a former parking lot) in 2024. Both projects sought to identify and realize the potential as housing of each location, while also expanding the domains in which we do business through the accumulation of knowledge pertaining to the development and operation of leased housing. We have also proceeded with the acquisition of leased housing that is already in operation, mainly within the zone of commerce covered by Takashimaya SC, in a bid to reinforce our business portfolio by expanding our holdings of highly stable assets.

New Development

Amidst an increasingly competitive business environment characterized by the maturation of the domestic market and the influx of foreign currency, we are also challenging the creation of projects using new methods. Leveraging the know-how gained from the Nagareyama project and our presence along the Tsukuba Express (TX) line, we aim to participate in projects using the PPP method in collaboration with local governments that seek sustainable business development and regional contribution. Additionally, we are exploring project formation in the Kansai area by utilizing the customer base and brand power of the Takashimaya Group.
Furthermore, by expanding our business domain through investments in real estate funds and providing new added value through collaboration with venture companies, we will continue to support the realization of a richer, more fulfilling lifestyle.
