Strategy

While driving our basic strategies of transference to next generation SC, diversification of assets and pioneering of new fields of business, and expansion of our income foundation in growth markets, we have also pursued our continuing growth as a company through the stable creation of income and contribution to regions by pursuing functionality as social infrastructure.

  • Transforming into a "next-generation SC" that can grow sustainably

Restructuring of SC business in response to environmental changes

We will create the "shared value" desired by regional society, and accelerate the transition to SC that are selected due to sympathy acquired from stakeholders. Creating the experience value provided by a physical store and new motivations to visit SC via things like new content, we will also maximize the advantage of the location to promote transformation into a terminal base for a sustainable society, seeking to ultimately function as a part of the societal infrastructure for a region.

  • Diversifying assets and developing new business areas

Resistance to change through enhancement of business portfolio

We will review our business portfolio, which has leaned toward commercial business in the past, in order to enhance our resistance to unpredictable elements such as economic changes. Centered on the development and acquisition of stable assets such as office building and housing, we will advance the diversification of our assets. We will use the knowledge developed in SC business and the customer base and brand power of the Takashimaya Group to form alliances with business partners, providing the kind of added value that is unique to our company.

  • Mid-term: Concentrate management resources on Vietnam business/Long term: Developing new markets

Expansion of profit base in growth markets

We will use the knowledge and stable income we have accrued from our Singapore business as resources to focus operational resources on business development in the growth market of Vietnam. We are taking advantage of our location at the SAIGON CENTRE, found in the heart of the city of Ho Chi Minh, and advancing a mixed development project in the rapidly developing capital city of Hanoi to create a second base for us in Vietnam. We are seeking to form business opportunities in a variety of ways, such as forming consortiums with the best local and other Japanese companies.
