Expanding our business to Singapore marked the first overseas venture for our company. In the 30 years since, our business there has grown to account for approximately a quarter of our profits. The success of a department store core SC around Singapore Takashimaya has increased the presence of our Group and formed the foundation for expansion into overseas business in the ASEAN region.

Business in Vietnam
Vietnam shows great promise as a consumer market, with an increasing population coupled with expanding middle and upper classes. Against a backdrop of a stable political system and good relations with Japan, it is an appealing growth market. We established a representative office there in 2008, and began searching for business opportunities. Following from our participation in the project with SAIGON CENTRE, located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh city, and the opening of a shopping center inside it, we are now advancing business development in the capital city of Hanoi.

After beginning operations in Singapore, we have also been focusing on our business in Vietnam, which is currently a growth market. Using the knowledge we have nurtured from the Singapore Takashimaya SC and our the business with the Vietnam's SAIGON CENTRE, and our group presence in the region as a base, we will continue to expand our activities as a comprehensive developer in the ASEAN region.
