April 1992 marked the birth of Kashiwa Takashimaya Station Mall, a facility created via a complete overhaul of the previous Kashiwa Rose Town and the arrival of Kashiwa Takashimaya as the key tenant. The Kashiwa area is located approximately 30 minutes from the center of the city, but with the creation of the Tsukuba Express the surrounding area also experienced robust development as residential housing. It has grown over the years into a market blessed with a trade area that covers 1.51 million people, mainly in the six neighboring cities. Against this privileged backdrop, Kashiwa Takashimaya Station Mall attracts a staggering 26 million customers per year, completely surpassing the conceptions for a station building and being evaluated highly as a fully-fledged SC.

Starting in 2023, the first large-scale facilities refurbishment in 15 years got underway. Utilizing the convenience of a station-based location, we are adding specialist food stores offering products that are easy to use in everyday life—something for which there has been much demand among the local residents—to our lineup, and also opening one of the largest dining zones in the area, marking a combined area size of more than 6000 ㎡ alongside the department store.
In the fall of 2024, the top floor of the new building will see the opening of a new community space, run autonomously by our company and based in the concept of "a place for the people of Kashiwa." In this way, we are also aiming to create a base that helps to circulate energy and excitement. Providing real experience value through city community spaces that connect people with the region will help to bring a further charge of vital energy to the entire region.
