Aiming to become a "living space" for local customers
Tachikawa Takashimaya opened in 1970. The facility then underwent a gradual transition to certain floors becoming specialist stores, and in 2018 it was renamed Tachikawa Takashimaya SC. In November 2023, it had a grand reopening with the entire facility renovated to house specialist stores.
These renovations sought to create a place that can coexist with and vitalize regional society, creating a "living space" rooted in the lifestyle of local customers. As well as meeting the need for daily necessities through the introduction of specialty stores covering that domain, we also boast one of the largest lineups of interactive entertainment facilities in the Tachikawa Station area.
In the newly opened rooftop area, we created a community zone for local residents. The leased plots in the Shared Growing Garden allow people to tackle growing their own vegetables, while the relaxing space called "-oniwa-" allows visitors to take a breather and enjoy an emotional moment in a liberating, open space.
Furthermore, seeking to create a space that energizes the city, we have reformed the west entrance that faces onto Sun Sun Road. With the new installation of an escalator heading to B1F, we have created an environment that all customers can use comfortably.
