The Takashimaya East Annex has been registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan and is characterized by its art deco style architectural design. It was newly renovated and reopened in 2020 with service residences called “Citadines Namba Osaka" and a new style of food hall called the “Community Food Hall Osaka-Nihombashi."
