Our first overseas project, seeking to meet the global standard
In 1993, "Takashimaya Singapore S.C." opened in Orchard Road, Singapore's largest shopping district. It is composed of Takashimaya Singapore and approximately 140 specialty stores. Based on the meticulous management practices honed in Japan, it has received high praise and has grown into a local landmark, affectionately known as "TAKA" by residents. In 2010, the Singapore branch that managed the operations was incorporated locally, continuing its commitment to community-based facility management. In 2023, the S.C. celebrated its 30th anniversary.
Through its Singapore operations, Takashimaya has accumulated international know-how in various fields such as architecture and marketing. The success of department store-based shopping centers with Takashimaya as the key tenant overseas has enhanced the group's presence in the ASEAN region, paving the way for expansion into the Vietnamese market.
